Greene&Greene Style Bulletin Board
This project is a bulletin board using splines, sufficiently large enough to hold a calendar and sized to use pre-made bulletin board panels from Amazon. It was also an excuse to practice using my new-to-me Powermatic PM701 that obtained.
The design is based on a mirror at the Greene & Greene -built Gamble House:

I ended up making it symmetric, top and bottom.

It is constructed from Mahogany with Ebony splines.
Ordinarily you would use a router to make these spline channels, and perhaps I should have. But the vertical piece has a 1/16" relief vs. the bottom rail, and the differing lengths make each of the eight channels unique.

Finishing is with amber-tinted Danish Oil, my new favorite, the tinting makes the mahogany have a warm color.

The back is just 1/8" plywood with the bulletin board panels glued in place, and the subassembly screwed in place. In theory, the backing could be removed and replaced with a mirror and it would be fairly similar to the original mirror.
